Letters from Jamon L. McClain, our new Principal, and Akelah Watters, the new Dean of Academics for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.

Dear Crusaders Parents/Guardians,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter to introduce myself as the new principal at Case Preparatory Academy for the 2023-24 school year. I am honored to join a community of committed families and staff with the goal of providing the best opportunities for our scholars. Over the course of my 8-year journey in education, I have served as a K-3 teacher, worked in student support services and my most recent role as a dean of students for 4 years at Akron Preparatory School.
I am originally from Canton, Ohio as I am a product of Canton City schools where I faced some of the same obstacles your scholars have encountered or will encounter throughout their young lives. I was a two-sport athlete as I played basketball and football at McKinley Sr. High School for 4 years. I then went on to receive a full ride scholarship to play football at the University of Findlay. I was a four year starter as I finished my college years with a degree in Early Childhood Education. After working in Canton City Schools for a few years I then went and pursued my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at Cleveland State University where I graduated in 2018. I share with you a few of my accomplishments as a testament of what consistency, accountability, support and hard work did for me and can do for your scholars as well.
As an educational leader, I strongly believe establishing a collaborative environment with high expectations that are clear and consistent, can create a positive working and learning environment that will promote growth.
As we enter the 2023-24 school year, we will focus on the following:
I am excited to start this new journey with you all as I embark on the Crusader community as we partnership to ensure success for all scholars. We as educators cannot get the job done without support, consistency and tough love for your scholar this year.
In Education,
Jamon L. McClain M.Ed
